PHISHING ATTEMPT USES "NCUA" - April 13, 2007
WesCorp received information through U.S. Central about a phishing attempt purportedly from the NCUA that is currently being conducted by e-mail and targeting both consumers and credit unions. This is an apparent phishing attempt designed to gather credit and debit card information from individuals and organizations.
The phishing e-mail appears below. NCUA is aware of this attempt and has directed all impacted parties to report any incidents to phishing@NCUA.gov. WesCorp wishes to share this info with you because of the unique nature of this particular phishing attempt—its use of the term, "NCUA."

Some customers have been receiving an email claiming to be from NCUA advising them to follow a link to what appear to be a NCUA web site, where they are prompted to enter their personal Online Banking details. NCUA is in no way involved with this email and the web site does not belong to us.
Actually, we are performing security improvements of our banking community and enforce customers to register their sensitive information for an additionally created free security service to prevent any fraudulent activity against their assets and savings. VISA EXTRAS PHISHING SCAM - MARCH 19, 2007
IntegraSys Switch Services and Fiserv EFT would like to advise you of a fraudulent email being sent to Visa debit card cardholders who participate in Verified by Visa.
The email claims to be from Visa and states that the cardholder was automatically enrolled in Verified by Visa. The email also states that the cardholder's Visas card may be temporarily disabled if they failed to update their Visa card. A sample of the email is shown below. This email is a phishing scam and did not come from Visa. Phishing is a form of fraud that attempts to trick the cardholder into revealing personal information, such as their credit or debit account numbers, checking account information, social security numbers, or banking account passwords through fake websites or in a reply email.
Visa will never ask cardholders to divulge account information or password via email. Should you receive any questionable emails, please DO NOT reply - please report the email to Visa by sending an email to phishing@visa.com.
