Meet the New Tourism Director for the Three Rivers Chamber of Commerce

Nov 16, 2022

Connecting with our local communities is what drives Tucoemas’s passion for serving. We’ve witnessed firsthand the power of neighbors helping neighbors and the everlasting impact it has on the resilience of our people. Resilience is no stranger to our neighbors in Three Rivers, Ca. With annual wildfires, pandemic closures, and the challenge of attracting seasonal tourists, Three Rivers has had to learn how to adapt and rebuild time and time again.

We had the pleasure of speaking with Dayna Higgins, who recently stepped into the role of Tourism Director for the Three Rivers Chamber of Commerce. Dayna is a creator, artist, business owner, mother, and friend. She spent nearly twenty years working in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks before becoming a full-time artist and business owner in Three Rivers. She currently has three shops: Gathered, The Dome, and part owner of Sequoia Souvenirs.

Being a gateway town, Three Rivers depends on tourism. “It stimulates our local economy, provides a cultural exchange with visitors, creates employment opportunities, and promotes our town profile on a much grander scale,” Dayna shares. Three Rivers folks work hard to keep our vibrant mountain town alive. It’s important to visit as many local shops as possible and help support these amazing business owners.

Three Rivers sees over one million visitors passing through each year and with increasing visitations to the Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, it’s important to be respectful to the people and creatures who live there.

“Be patient.  Drive safely.  Don’t litter.  Keep kindness in your heart.” - Dayna Higgins
